English band formed in 2007, White Lies is constantly compared to bands Joy Division, Echo & the Bunnymen, Editors, Interpol and others. Initially called Fear of Flying, their lineup consists of Harry McVeigh (vocals/guitar) Charles Cave (bass) and Jack Lawrence-Brown (drums).

After signing to Fiction Records, the trio released the album To Lose My Life... in 2009, which reached number one on the UK album chart. In December 2010, the group performed in Brazil, at the Design for Humanity benefit event, by the surf wear brand Billabong, held in the city of São Paulo.

In early 2011, White Lies released Ritual, their second album. Also in 2011, the band returned to Brazil, where they performed at the Planeta Terra festival in São Paulo.

In 2013, the band returned with a new album, titled Big TV. Its successor, Friends, came out in 2016. Five, the group's fifth album, was released in 2019. The group returned in 2022 with As I Try Not to Fall Apart.
