Slim Dunlap

Bob “Slim” Dunlap, former guitarist for the American band The Replacements, died yesterday at the age of 73. He had suffered a stroke in 2012, leaving him with irreversible after-effects.

Bob Dunlap joined The Replacements in 1987, when founding guitarist Bob Stinson was kicked out of the group. Addicted to drug use, Bob died in 1985 at the age of 35.

The nickname Slim was suggested by vocalist Paul Westerberg, aiming to differentiate himself from Bob Stinson's name.

After the end of The Replacements, Slim Dunlap released three solo albums.
