English post-punk revival band, Savages was formed in 2011 by guitarist Gemma Thompson and vocalist Jehnny Beth (whose real name is Camille Berthomier). Soon after, bassist Ayse Hassan and drummer Fay Milton completed the formation of the band.
In January 2012, Savages opened a British Sea Power concert. In June of the same year, the group released a double single with the songs "Flying to Berlin" and "Husbands", attracting the attention of several publications, which compared the band with Joy Division, Public Image Ltd., Siouxsie and the Banshees and PJ Harvey.
The band's first album, Silence Yourself, came out in May 2013. In January 2016, Savages released Adore Life.
