Marika Louise Hackman, English born on February 17, 1992 in Hampshire, began releasing her first songs in 2012. The following year, she toured supporting Laura Marling in Australia and Europe.
In 2015, Marika Hackman released We Slept at Last, her first full-length album, which was received positively by critics.
Her music, which explores elements of folk, grunge and indie pop, gained more prominence in 2017, when the singer released the album I'm Not Your Man. In 2019, she released Any Human Friend, her third album. Covers (2020) brought together re-recordings of songs by Air, Radiohead, Sharon Van Etten, the Shins, Beyoncé, Grimes, among others.
In early 2024, she returned with Big Sigh, a new album of new songs.
