Swedish, born in 1978 in the city of Gothenburg, indie folk singer José González (son of Argentine emigrants who left the country after the 1976 coup d'état) released his first album, Veneer, in 2003. His music has influences from artists such as Nick Drake, João Gilberto, Elliott Smith and the Cuban Silvio Rodriguez.
José González released In Our Nature, his second album in 2007. A new studio album by the singer, Vestiges & Claws, came out in 2015. In 2021, he released Local Valley.
