American artist Kim Althea Gordon, born on April 28, 1953 in the city of Rochester, New York, began her career in the field of visual arts. However, she became known as the bassist, vocalist and guitarist of the cult-favorite Sonic Youth, a band that released 15 albums between 1983 and 2009.
After the end of Sonic Youth, Kim Gordon formed the Body/Head project. In 2019, she released her first solo album, titled No Home Record. Their second album, The Collective, arrived in 2024.
