Indie pop duo Kings Of Convenience was formed in 1999 in Bergen, Norway by Erlend Øye and Eirik Glambek Bøe. The band is notable for its delicate melodies music, being compared, mainly, to Belle and Sebastian.

The band debuted in 2001 with their debut album, Quiet Is the New Loud. In 2004, Riot on an Empty Street arrived, which featured the music video for the track “I'd Rather Dance With You” on European MTV.

Declaration of Dependence, third album, was released in 2009. After a long hiatus, Kings Of Convenience returned in 2021 with Peace or Love.
