Swedish electropop duo, Icona Pop was formed in 2009 by friends Aino Jawo and Caroline Hjelt. The two, who grew up in Stockholm, signed with local label TEN Music Group, which released the duo's first album in 2012, simply titled Icona Pop. The band's debut album featured the track "I Love It", song that made it onto Rolling Stone, Billboard and Pitchfork's song of the year lists.
Their second album, This Is... Icona Pop (or This Is...), came out in September 2013. Ten years later, the duo released Club Romantech, an album with songs produced from the beginning of the global COVID pandemic -19.
