American Jillian Rose Banks was born on June 15, 1988 in the State of California. As a teenager, she started writing her first songs when she got a keyboard from a friend. In 2013, she made her way onto the pop music scene when she released the singles "Before I Ever Met You", "Warm Water" and "Waiting Game", and the London EP. At the end of the same year, her name appeared on the BBC's traditional "Sound of" list (2014). Her music has been categorized as alternative pop, flirting with R&B.
As one of 2014's song of the year promises, Banks released her debut album, Goddess, on Harvest Records in September. The Altar, the second, arrived in 2016. In July 2019, she released III. The singer returned in 2022 with Serpentina.
