The Canadian supergroup The New Pornographers was formed in Vancouver in 1997. Carl Newman, Daniel Bejar, Kathryn Calder, Neko Case, John Collins, Kurt Dahle, Todd Fancey and Blaine Thurier are some of the main members of the band.
With Carl Newman as the main writer of the songs, The New Pornographers released the albums Mass Romantic (2000), Electric Version (2003), Twin Cinema (2005), Challengers (2007) and Together (2010).
Entitled Brill Bruisers, their sixth studio album came out in August 2014. In 2017, the band released Whiteout Conditions and, in 2019, In the Morse Code of Brake Lights. The group returned in 2023 with Continue as a Guest.
