Noel Thomas David Gallagher was born in the English city of Manchester on May 26, 1967. Before joining Oasis (his brother Liam Gallagher's band) as a guitarist and composer, in the early 1990s, Noel worked as a roadie for the group Inspiral Carpets.

Led by Liam and Noel, Oasis was one of the main names in Britpop, a musical movement of the 1990s, which rescued the British guitar pop of the 1960s and 1970s with lyrics aborting exclusively British themes. And it also functioned as a response to the grunge, American movement. Oasis, Suede, Pulp, Supergrass, Manic Street Preachers and Elastica were some important Britpop bands.

Oasis released between 1994 and 2008 seven studio albums. In August 2009, Noel announced his departure from the band, motivated by a fight with his brother, Liam.

In 2010, Noel Gallagher performed some solo shows. Already in the following year, he appeared with the project Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds. In October of the same year, the first eponymous album was released. Chasing Yesterday, the project's second album, was released in 2015.

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds returned in 2017 with a new album, entitled Who Built the Moon?. In 2023 Council Skies arrived.
