Kurt Cobain

Lead singer and guitarist for the band Nirvana (an icon of the grunge scene - a subgenre of alternative rock that emerged in the late 1980s in the American city of Seattle), Kurt Donald Cobain was born on February 20, 1967 in Aberdeen, which, like Seattle, is located in the state of Washington. His parents divorced when he was seven years old. This separation had a negative effect on his personality. Cobain became a difficult person to live with, and showed an aversion to school. Painting and singing were some of his favorite activities during his adolescence.

Cobain bought his first guitar at the age of fourteen. He worked as a roadie for the band Melvins. In 1986, he formed Nirvana with Krist Novaselic. The band released three studio albums: Bleach (1989), Nevermind (1991) and In Utero (1993). The success that came with Nevermind brought a greater imbalance to Kurt Cobain's life. The abuse of heavy drugs, such as heroin, led the Nirvana frontman to a premature end. Not even his marriage to Courtney Love and the birth of his daughter Frances Bean Cobain helped in his rehabilitation. On April 8, 1994, after three days missing, Cobain's body was found in his home. According to the coroner's report, Cobain committed suicide with a shotgun on April 5.

Kurt Cobain's life was portrayed in the documentary "Montage of Heck", directed by Brett Morgen and released in 2015. This documentary gave rise to the compilation Montage of Heck: The Home Recordings, which brings together demos and home recordings made by Cobain.
