In March, Pixies announced the departure of Paz Lenchantin and the arrival of Emma Richardson (Band of Skulls.). Now, the band presents its first recording, "You’re So Impatient", with the new bassist, which will be released as a double 7” vinyl single on July 19th.
About “You’re So Impatient”, Black Francis wrote: “‘You’re So Impatient’ is a slightly comedic suburban culture moment: there’s this guy, there’s this gal, there’s this tug-of-love dynamic going on. But the backdrop is the mall. And while the mall is crass, it’s also a very zombie, rock ‘n’ roll horror movie setting.”
Accompanying “You're So Impatient” is a cover of “Que Sera, Sera”, a song from the 1950s, best remembered for a performance by Doris Day in a scene from the film “The Man Who Knew Too Much” (1956) by Alfred Hitchcock. This version was recorded by the band in 2021 for the television series "From".
