Taylor Hawkins

Taylor Hawkins, drummer for Foo Fighters, died yesterday, the 25th, in Bogotá, Colombia, at the age of 50. The cause of death was not disclosed. In a statement, the band mourned the musician's death:

“The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins. His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever. Our hearts go out to his wife, children and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time.”

Hawkins was found dead in his hotel room in Bogotá, the city where the band would perform at the Estéreo Picnic festival. Foo Fighters also canceled their performance at Lollapalooza Brasil that would take place tomorrow in the city of São Paulo.

Taylor Hawkins joined Foo Fighters in 1997. Before, he played drums in Alanis Morissette's touring band.

In parallel with Foo Fighters, he maintained the Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders project, which released the albums Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders (2006), Red Light Fever (2010) and Get the Money (2019).
