After passing through the bands Vivian Girls, Crystal Stilts and Dum Dum Girls, the American Frankie Rose decided to dedicate herself to her own work, forming the noise pop group Frankie Rose and the Outs, with which she released the eponymous album in 2010.
In 2012, Frankie Rose released the album Interstellar, but without The Outs. This solo album by the artist presents her music more focused on synth pop. The following year, she released Herein Wild. A new solo album, Cage Tropical, came out in 2017.
The American artist entirely re-recorded Seventeen Seconds, The Cure's 1980 album. This work of covers arrived in 2019. In 2023, she released Love as Projection, a work of new songs.
