Wayne Kramer, guitarist and co-founder of the American band MC5, passed away yesterday at the age of 75. The news came through the artist's official social networks. The cause of death was revealed.
Alongside Fred "Sonic" Smith, Wayne Kramer founded MC5 in 1963. The band is one of the icons of the proto punk movement and their main work in their short discography is their debut album Kick Out the Jams. The group disbanded in 1972 and made some sporadic comebacks.
After MC5, Kramer played in the bands Was (Not Was) and Gang War. In the 1990s, he began his solo career, in which he released six albums.
