Singer-songwriter Rita Lee died yesterday, Monday, at her home in the city of São Paulo. Considered the queen of Brazilian rock, the 75-year-old singer had been fighting lung cancer since 2021.

Rita Lee Jones de Carvalho was born in São Paulo on December 31, 1947. She emerged in Brazilian rock as a member of the group Os Mutantes between 1966 and 1972. Afterwards, she began to dedicate herself to her solo career.

The singer had several hits on the radio, such as “Saúde”, “Doce Vampire”, “Jardins da Babilônia”, “Alô alô Marciano”, “Baila comigo”, “Lança Perfume”, “Ovelha Negra”, “Desculpe o auê” , “Agora só falta você” and “Mania de você”.
