Canadian indie rock band Wolf Parade formed in 2003 in Montreal. The band's first performance was opening for fellow Canadians Arcade Fire

Dan Boeckner (vocals/guitar) and Spencer Krug (keyboards/vocals), Hadji Bakara (synthesizers) and Arlen Thompson (drums) released a self-titled 4-song EP in 2003, also known as 4 Song EP. Another self-titled EP, 6 Song EP, was released in 2004.

In September 2005, Wolf Parade released their debut album, Apologies to the Queen Mary, on Sub Pop. Dante DeCaro (ex-Hot Hot Heat) joined the group for a short time in 2005 as the band's second guitarist and percussionist.

Wolf Parade released At Mount Zoomer, their second album, in 2008. Expo 86, their third, came out in 2010. After a long hiatus, the band returned with Cry Cry Cry in 2017. Three years later, Thin Mind arrived.
