An English band from Kendal, Wild Beasts was formed in 2002 by students Hayden Thorpe (vocals, guitar, keyboards) and Ben Little (guitar, keyboards). Initially, they played under the name Fauve. In 2004, with the addition of drummer Chris Talbot, the group was renamed Wild Beasts.
In 2005, the band moved to Leeds, where bassist Tom Fleming joined the group. Wild Beasts signed with Domino Records in 2007. The following year, their first album, Limbo, Panto, was released.
The band then released the albums Two Dancers (2009), Smother (2011) and Present Tense (2014). In 2016, the band released their fifth album, Boy King, produced by John Congleton.
Wild Beasts disbanded in 2018.
