The New York band Vampire Weekend, formed in 2006 by Ezra Koenig (vocals, guitar), Chris Baio (bass), Rostam Batmanglij (keyboard, guitar) and Chris Tomson (drums), was a pop/rock revelation in 2007, year in which he released the single 'Mansard Roof'.
Vampire Weekend's indie rock with African pop music influences gained more repercussion in the specialized media in 2008, with the release of their first album, Vampire Weekend.
The band released Contra (2010) and Modern Vampires of the City (2013). In 2016 it was announced that Rostam Batmanglij had left the band. Following this, the albums Father of the Bride (2019) and Only God Was Above Us (2024) were released.
