American singer, songwriter and producer Caroline Elizabeth Polachek was born on the 20th of June 1985 in New York City. Between the ages of one and six, she lived with her family in Tokyo. Back in his native country, Polachek started singing in chorus and playing the synthesizer, a gift from his father.

In 2005, Caroline Polachek co-founded the synth-pop band Chairlift while studying at the University of Colorado. Established in New York, the band emerged from the music scene driven mainly by the song "Bruises", track from the first album, Does You Inspire You (2008).

Before the end of Chairlift in 2017, the singer had released a solo album titled Arcadia, but under the stage name of Ramona Lisa. The artist described this work as "pastoral electronic music".

Just using the initials of her given name (CEP), she released the album Drawing the Target Around the Arrow in 2017, an instrumental album. The singer returned with an album of mainstream pop songs in 2019 with Pang, her first album under the name Caroline Polachek.

She has collaborated with artists such as Blood Orange, Christine and the Queens and Charli XCX. In addition to co-writing songs for Beach Fossils ("Tangerine"), Beyoncé ("No Angel") and Travis Scott ("SDP Interlude"). In 2023, she released the praised Desire, I Want to Turn Into You.
