Amy Winehouse was born in London on September 14, 1983. The singer and songwriter began her first musical projects in her early teens. She came from a family with musical preferences linked to jazz. And it was under the influence of jazz and soul that the English singer released her first album, Frank, in 2003, which received positive reviews from the specialized press.
But it was with Back to Black, an album released in 2006, that Amy Winehouse won over the public and critics. This work produced by Mark Ronson brought the singles "Rehab", "You Know I'm No Good", "Back to Black", "Tears Dry on Their Own" and "Love Is a Losing Game". At the 2008 Grammys, Back to Black won five awards and was nominated for Album of the Year.
Winehouse died of alcohol poisoning on July 23, 2011, at the age of 27.
