Beck

Beck Hansen (Bek David Campbell) was born on July 8, 1970 in the city of Los Angeles. His interest in the arts, more specifically music, came from his family. The son of a musician (David Campell) and an actress (Bibbe Hansen), Californian Beck Hansen emerged on the music scene in 1994, when the song "Loser", which had been released as a single in 1993 by an independent label, began to play on alternative radio stations in the United States.

It wasn't long before a major record label, in this case DGC, signed the singer, releasing his first album, the acclaimed Mellow Gold (1994). Also in 1994, two other albums by the singer (Stereopathetic Soulmanure and One Foot in the Grave) were released by independent labels, with experimental songs, mostly "typically homemade" recordings that Beck had been composing over the previous years.

The "collages" of rock, hip-hop, jazz, country, blues, folk and psychedelia were applied to great perfection on the 1996 album, Odelay, which confirmed Beck as one of the most creative artists in American music.

After Odelay, he released the albums Mutations (1998), Midnite Vultures (1999), Sea Change (2002), Guero (2005), The Information (2006) and Modern Guilt (2008).

In February 2014, the singer released Morning Phase, his first album in almost six years. His thirteenth album, Colors, came out in 2017.

Beck's fourteenth album, Hyperspace, was released on November 22, 2019.
