The Smile

The Smile is an English band formed in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic by two members of Radiohead - Thom Yorke (vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards) and Jonny Greenwood (guitar, bass, keyboards), and Tom Skinner (drums) , co-founder of the British jazz band Sons of Kemet. The group's name refers to a poem by English poet Ted Hughes (1930-1998).

The trio explores elements of progressive rock, post-punk and math rock in their music. Her debut album, A Light for Attracting Attention (2022) was well received by critics at Pitchfork, Spin and Guardian, among others.

The Smile returned in 2024 with their second album, Wall of Eyes, and the third, Cutouts.
