The English folk rock band Mumford & Sons was formed in 2007 in London, emerging within an underground folk scene that included artists who practiced roots music, such as Noah and the Whale and Laura Marling.

In 2009, the group signed with Island Records, through which they released their first album, Sigh No More, produced by Markus Dravs (who has also worked with Arcade Fire,The Maccabees, among others) that same year.

Mumford & Sons' second studio album, Babel, arrived in September 2012. On their third album, Wilder Mind, released in 2015, the group abandoned folk rock, leaving aside the banjo and acoustic bass, predominating electric instruments.

In 2018, the band returned with a new album, titled Delta. After a long hiatus, the group released their fifth album, Rushmere, in 2025.
