Born on November 21, 1965 in the city of Reykjavík, Icelandic Björk Guðmundsdóttir started her music career at an early age. At the age of 11, in 1977, he recorded an album, performing songs by several artists, among them, the Beatles ("Fool on the Hill") and Stevie Wonder ("Your Kiss Is Sweet").

In the early 80s, she was a member of the bands Tappi Tikarrass and KUKL, influenced by punk. However, it was with Sugarcubes that Björk became known internationally in the alternative pop/rock scene. In 1993, after the end of Sugarcubes, she started his influential solo career in avant-garde pop, having his music based on the most experimental electronics with influences from classical music, rock, jazz, folk, industrial, among other genres.

Their debut album, Debut, released in June 1993, was produced by the sought-after producer Nellee Hooper. Debut is considered to be one of the albums that started the trip-hop movement.

Björk's music was highly acclaimed with his second album, Post (1995). Its mix of electronic music and jazz made this work a cutting edge album at that time. Post had a group of producers formed by the aforementioned Nellee Hooper, Tricky, Howie B, Graham Massey, Marius de Vries and the singer herself. "Army of Me", "Isobel", "I Miss You" are the main tracks on this album.

The singer's experimentalism continued on Homogenic, a 1997 album, which, among the producers, had the Brazilian Eumir Deodato. In 2000, Björk won the award for best actress at the Canes film festival for his performance in the film "Dancer in the Dark", by director Lars Von Trier. She also collaborated with the film's soundtrack, entitled Selmasongs: Dancer in the Dark.

In 2001, Björk released the album Vespertine, an album that featured the use of orchestras and choirs. Following were the albums Medúlla (2004) and Volta (2007). The artist's eighth studio album, Biophilia, was created as a multimedia project. Launched as applications for iPhone and iPad devices, in partnership with Apple. Biophilia was released in CD format in October 2011. In 2015, she released Vulnicura. A new album, entitled Utopia, came out in 2017. The singer returned in 2022 with Fossora, her tenth studio album.
