LCD Soundsystem

LCD Soundsystem emerged in New York in 2002, when it released the first single, "Losing My Edge", which caught the attention of the music press. In reality, LCD Soundsystem is a musical project by James Murphy, producer and co-founder of DFA Records, a label specialized in the dance-punk genre. Keyboardist Nancy Whang and drummer Pat Mahoney are Murphy's two main collaborators in the band, which blends electronica, punk rock and experimental elements.

In 2005, the band released their first self-titled album. The highlight of the album was the track "Daft Punk Is Playing at My House". The second album released by the James Murphy project was Sound of Silver (2007). The album was critically acclaimed and entered several best of the year lists.

In 2010, the band released their third album. This Is Happening had as its first single the track "Drunk Girls". The dissolution of the band was announced in 2011. However, in December 2015, the band released a single called "Christmas Will Break Your Heart" and the sequel reunited and started a tour, performing at several festivals. Later the band started working on a new album. Entitled American Dream, the group's fourth album was released in September 2017.
