North American instrumental rock band from Austin, Texas, Explosions in the Sky show similarities with groups like Mogwai and Godspeed You! Black Emperor, practitioners of so-called post-rock.

In addition to several albums, the quartet formed in 1999 by Mark Smith (guitar), Munaf Rayani (guitar), Michael James (bass) and Christopher Hrasky (drums) contributed to soundtracks for films such as "Friday Night Lights" (All for Victory ), "Prince Avalanche", "Lone Survivor" and "Manglehorn".

Explosions in the Sky has released all of their albums - How Strange, Innocence (2000), Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Die, Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Live Forever (2001), The Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place (2003), The Rescue (2005), All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone (2007), Take Care, Take Care, Take Care (2011), The Wilderness and End (2023) - by the Temporary Residence Limited label.
