Born Anaïs Oluwatoyin Estelle Marinho on August 9, 2000 in London and of Nigerian, French and Chadian descent, the singer, songwriter and poet Arlo Parks debuted in 2018 with the single "Cola". Subsequently, she signed with the label Transgressive Records, for which she released the EPs Super Sad Generation and Sophie in 2019.

Arlo Parks started writing poetry and short stories from the age of 11. At 14, he started playing his beats using the GarageBand app. His music flirts with elements from genres such as Indie pop, R&B, folk, trip hop and hip hop.

Present on the BBC's “Sound of 2020” list, the singer started her first tour in February 2020, which was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Still in 2020, Arlo Parks released the singles "Eugene", "Black Dog", "Hurt", "Green Eyes" and "Caroline", and announced the release of their first album, Collapsed in Sunbeams. She also appeared in a video covering (voice and piano) the song "Creep" by Radiohead, and later playing the piano in an interpretation of "Fake Plastic Trees" (also by Radiohead) made by American singer Phoebe Bridgers for a session BBC 1.

Collapsed in Sunbeams was released in January 2021. The singer released her second album My Soft Machine in 2023.
